The Trest House renovated by Ben and Erin Napier in Home Town, season 1

In the realms of HGTV fandom, there are fans — and then there are fans. Of note, the legion of aficionados of Home Town, and its stars Ben and Erin Napier, are some of the most passionate and dedicated ones out there. (You know who you are.)

And if you consider yourself in that supreme superfan category — as in you entertain notions of up and moving to Home Town's bucolic small-town setting of Laurel, Mississippi here's a news item that you may find of interest. Yet another house featured in the hit HGTV series, and lovingly restored by Erin and Ben, has gone on the market.

Think of it. If you were to play your cards right (and if you hurry), an authentic custom-renovated Napier home could be yours.

Remember the Trest house from Home Town's very first season? Here's a quick refresher.

Dawn and Michael Trest are friends of Erin and Ben and, at the time of the renovation, the couples had known each other for about six years. Dawn and Michael and their two kids had been living the loft life in downtown Laurel — which they enjoyed, but they were ready for something different — specifically a family friendly home with a yard. Ben and Erin set about helping them make that dream a reality. It was all documented in the season one episode appropriately titled "So Long Loft, Hello Home."

Fast-forward to 2020 and the Trest family has grown — and outgrown what had once seemed their ideal forever home. They've decided to put the renovated home on the market for $210,000 as Erin related in an online post.

The house was built in 1968 and had belonged to a local chef and restaurateur. It had the features the Trests were looking for including a classic neighborhood setting, four bedrooms, two baths and a nice enclosed backyard. Essentially a split-level ranch, it was encumbered by a visually awkward carport and a problematic layout inside.

Erin and Ben made substantial renovations, removing walls and reworking interior spaces. A closed-off kitchen gets opened onto adjacent dining and living spaces and is transformed into a highly functional new combined space that’s both chef-worthy and inviting.

The old carport was demolished and in its place Home Town hosts Erin and Ben Napier created this patio with arbor and seating area. The new wood elements were custom created by Ben using cedar lumber that was salvaged from the old siding and interior demolition.
